SFO Terminal 2

SFO Terminal 2, formerly known as the Central Terminal, stands for a domestic terminal hosting outbound and inbound flights, especially the ones operated by American Airlines and Virgin America, to several cities within the US.

Terminal 2 - or central terminal- operates with national flights. 

On the other hand, it is home of boarding areas D (D1-D18). 

Terminal 2 can handle over 5.5 million passengers a year, featuring for a large retail and concessions area, a gourmet marketplace and a spa.

San Francisco Terminal 2 is a sustainable facility since some of its features claim to be eco-friendly: Paper ticketing and preferential parking for hybrid cars. Also, you can find healthy food from local sources.

Levels

SFO Airport Terminal 2 consists of the following levels:

Level 1

Baggage claim and Arrivals area.

Services: Restrooms, American Airlines Bag Claim Office, American Airlines Credit Union.

Level 2

Departures and Boarding area.

Domestic Boarding Area D

Domestic Boarding D area hosts gates D1-D18.

By the centralized checkpoint, you can connect to both boarding areas C and E.

Services: Restrooms, shops, newsagents, cafés.

Level 4

AirTrain Terminal 2 Station.

Level 5

Domestic Parking Garage.

Walking times from Sky Center to gates: 

Time to the farthest A gate(A01-22): 3 to 9 minutes. 
Time to the farthest B gate(B24-56): 3 to 16 minutes.
Time to the farthest C gate (C70-C84): 1 to 7 minutes.
Time to the farthest D gate(D03-D21): 5 to 20 minutes. 
Time to the farthest E gate(E70-86): 4 to 7 minutes.

Premium food and conference rooms are available upon payment.

Alaska Airlines Alaska Lounge: Terminal 2, Concourse D. Services: Open from 5:00am to 10:00pm. Services: snacks, Wi-Fi, drinks, TV, among others.
